Jagadgurus in Sivagangai

The Sringeri Jagadgurus arrived at Sivagangai in the evening of May 15, 2017 to a devout welcome by devotees. They were received at the entrance of Sri Sundararaja Perumal temple. Sri Sannidhanam had Darshan at the temple. Following this, Sri Sannidhanam was taken in a procession. While the sky looked threateningly overcast at the very start of the procession, a shower drenched the town exactly after the procession of Sri Sannidhanam ended. The half an hour shower brought about a pleasant atmosphere without inconveniencing any of the arrangements made by the devotees of Sivagangai.

The Jagadgurus then arrived at the Vishwanatha Swamy temple, had Darshan and inaugurated the Vishalakshi Mandapam in the temple premises. Members of the Sivagangai Samsthanam led the devotees in welcoming the Jagadgurus. The public function to welcome the Jagadgurus was held in this Mandapam. Dhuli Pada Puja was performed by Sri Govindan. After Veda Ghosha, two Sanskrit Swagata Patrikas (one in prose and the other in poetry) and a Tamil Swagata Patrika were read out and submitted to the Jagadgurus. The Jagadgurus blessed the gathering with Anugraha Bhashanams.

Sri Sannidhanam in His Anugraha Bhashanam talked about the different classes of devotees stating that initially a person would become aware of the Lord’s greatness and become a devotee. Thereafter, as devotion increases, the person will be used by the Lord as an instrument to effect many noble deeds. Eventually, the person through Nishkama Karma and Chittashuddhi and single minded devotion would be led to the non-dual state.

Sri Mahasannidhanam in His Anugraha Bhashanam underlined the importance of nurturing the temples in the locality. He pointed out that the well-being of the people is directly related to how well people maintain temples in the locality and blessed that the renovation activity being undertaken at the Vishwanatha Swamy temple be completed soon.

On 16 May, Sri Mahasannidhanam visited the Sringeri Shankara Math in Sivagangai and had Darshan of Sri Ratna Garbha Ganapati, Sri Adi Shankaracharya and Goddess Sharadamba.

Sri Sannidhanam had Darshan at the Rajarajeshwari temple in the premises of the Sivagangai Samsthanam. Sri Sannidhanam then proceed to Manamadurai, had Darshan at the Sringeri Shankara Math and blessed devotees with an Anugraha Bhashanam. Sri Sannidhanam then returned to Sivagangai. Both Sri Mahasannidhanam and Sri Sannidhanam gave Darshan to devotees.
