Jagadguru Graces Anantapur
Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji arrived at Anantapur to a grand reception on 25th March 2013. On arrival at the Sringeri Shankara Math in Anantapur, the Jagadguru had Darshan of Goddess Sharada and Sri Adi Shankaracharya. Dhuli Pada Puja was performed by Dharmadhikari Sri Roddam Prabhakara Rao. The Jagadguru performed the Sharada Chandramoulishwara Puja in the Math premises.

On 26th March, a Telugu literary program, entitled Bhuvana Vijayam — modeled upon the poets of the Royal Court of Raja Krishnadevaraya of the Vijayanagar Kingdom — took place in the Jagadguru’s presence. The poets enthralled the audience with their skill in composing chaste Telugu verses while the Jagadguru participated with His own remarks, questions and display of poetic mastery. The program was a cultural treat and the Jagadguru blessed the poets at the end of the program. CEO & Administrator of the Peetham, Sri VR Gowrishankar felicitated the poets.

On 27th March, the Jagadguru laid the foundation stone for the renovation of Sri Shakti Ganapati temple in the Sringeri Shankara Math premises in Anantapur. A Veda Shastra Sabha was held in the evening in the Jagadguru’s presence and scholars felicitated. During the stay of the Jagadguru, Kanyaka Puja, Ganapati Homa and Chandi Homa were performed in the Math premises.
The Jagadguru started from Anantapur towards Kalyanadurga on 28th March evening, and enroute had Darshan of Sri Subrahmanyeshwara Swamy at Pampanur.
