Jagadgurus in Nagercoil
ARRIVAL
Sri Mahasannidhanam and Sri Sannidhanam arrived at Nagercoil to a warm welcome by devotees at around 6:30 pm on June 10, 2017. The Jagadgurus first had Darshan of Goddess Sharadamba and Valli Devasena Sameta Subrahmanya Swamy in the Sringeri Shankara Math at Nagerocoil. Thereafter the Jagadgurus were led in a procession. Sri Sannidhanam also had Darshan at Pallatheru Perumal temple.
After Dhuli Pada Pooja, Veda Ghosha and prayer took place in the public function organised on the occasion. Swagata Patrikas were read in Sanskrit and Tamil to welcome the Jagadgurus to Nagercoil.
Sri Sannidhanam in His Anugraha Bhashanam said that many Jnanis have graced the land Bharata since time immemorial. Quoting the Upanishadic anecdote of the noble king Janashruti approaching the Jnani Raikva for instruction in Self-knowledge, Sri Sannidhanam stated that the grace of a Jnani can be obtained by sincerely serving the Jnani.
Sri Mahasannidhanam in His Anugraha Bhashanam stated that while the intention to engage in noble deeds is important and is good, we must be principled even in such matters. Noble deeds must be engaged in without causing inconvenience or harm to others and without getting any kind of support from unrighteous persons. Sri Mahasannidhanam also pointed that while engaging in noble deeds, one must not cause intense strain to one’s own physical body such as engaging in unduly long periods of fast. The physical body being the instrument to engaging in Dharma must also be taken care of. Likewise, one need not attempt to do what is much beyond one’s capacity. Not all can desire to perform the Atirudra Mahayuga. Instead, a Rudra Ekadashini performed with sincere devotion and faith will bring about one’s welfare.
Sri Mahasannidhanam then stated that amongst the hundreds of branches in the country, the Sringeri Shankara Math in Nagercoil is special in that it is the southernmost branch and ended the Anugraha Bhashanam blessing the devotees of Nagercoil.
