Aradhana Puja of the 35th Jagadguru

The 23rd Aradhana of the 35th Jagadguru Shankaracharya of the Peetham, Brahmibhuta Jagadguru Sri Abhinava Vidyatirtha Mahaswamiji was celebrated for 3 days from October 6th to 8th. On all three days, Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji offered special Aradhana Puja, with the main Aradhana day falling on 7th October. A larger-than-life sculpture of Sri Sri Mahasannidhanam offered by devotees was used in the Puja. The Jagadguru performed Puja to a large Saligrama with the huge sculpture of Sri Sri Mahasannidhanam in the background, giving devotees a feeling that Sri Sri Mahasannidhanam was Himself seated accepting the Aradhana Puja and blessing the devotees. Gandha (Sandalwood Paste) and Tirtha was distributed to devotees at around 3 pm on 7th and 8th October. The Aradhana was also observed for 3 days at the Adhishtanam of Sri Sri Mahasannidhanam at Sringeri.

Aradhana Puja of the 34th Jagadguru

On 15th October 2012, the grand Navaratri Celebrations began with the Mahabhisheka of Goddess Sharadamba was performed at Sudharma. The Mahamangalarati of the Goddess, in the Jagatprasutika Alankara took place in the presence of Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji before noon.

This auspicious day being Mahalaya Amavasya day, also marks the Videha Mukti of the renowned Jivanmukta, Jagadguru Sri Chandrashekhara Bharati Mahaswamiji, the 34th Jagadguru Shankaracharya of the Peetham. The Mahaswamiji performed the special Aradhana Puja in front of a larger-than-life sculpture offered by the devotees of Chennai.
