Vratas and Pujas during Chaturmasya
The Jagadguru performed Shravana Somavara Puja on 23rd July, 30th July, 6th August and 13th August. On 27th July, the Jagadguru observed Varamahalakshmi Vrata in the evening. Disciples consider it a privilege and fortune to have Darshan of the Jagadguru during the Shravana Somavaras that occur during the Chaturmasya. This year, devotees in large numbers witnessed the Jagadguru’s elaborate worship of Lord Chandramoulishwara.

Sri Krishna Jayanti was celebrated on 9th August with the Jagadguru performing a special Puja beginning at 10:30 PM and ending at midnight with the Parayana of Krishna Janana Sarga. The previous day, the Jagadguru gave an Anugraha Bhashanam speaking about the greatness of Sri Krishna Avatara. On 19th September, Vinakaya Chaturthi was celebrated. The Jagadguru performed a special Puja to Lord Vinayaka in the afternoon.

On 26th September, Vamana Jayanti was celebrated. The Jagadguru performed an elaborate Puja from 9:30 to 11:30 PM and did the Uttara Puja the next morning at 9 AM. On 28th September, Ananta Padmanabha Vrata was observed. On 29th September, the Jagadguru observed Uma Maheshwara Vrata by performing an elaborate Puja at noon.

On 30th September the Jagadguru undertook Seemollanghanam – referring to the completion of the Chaturmasya by going beyond the Seema (or boundary) – by going to the famous Sri Kapaleeshwarar temple in Mylapore. The overflowing and joyous crowd that assembled attest to their reverence and affection for the Jagadguru and His impact on the hearts and minds of astikas in Chennai. First, the Jagadguru had the Darshan of Lord Vinayaka, Goddess Karpagambal and Lord Kapaleeshwara. The Jagadguru then gave Darshan to the devotees at the Thiru Kalyana Mandapam in the temple, blessed the temple authorities and gave an Anugraha Bhashanam.
