Madakasira: MARCH 30-31, 2013
The Jagadguru Blesses Madakasira with Rainfall
Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji arrived at Nilakantapuram, Madakasira on the evening of March 30. Sri Raghuveera Reddy, Revenue Minister, Andhra Pradesh welcomed the Jagadguru and remembered that he had invited Sri Sri Mahasannidhanam to Madakasira in 1987 and that it had fructified in the form of the Jagadguru’s visit now. He implored the Jagadguru to shower His choicest blessings on the drought struck area. The Jagadguru in His Anugraha Bhashanam recalled that He undertook the Vijaya Yatra in Andhra Pradesh for the last five months and the Yatra which had started with Darshan of Sri Venkateshwara on a Saturday in Tirupati was ending with the Darshan of Sri Nilakanteshwara on another Saturday in Madakasira. The Jagadguru praised the devotion of Sri Raghuveera Reddy and blessed the residents of the area and invoked the Grace of Lord Varuna.
The following morning, the Jagadguru had Darshan at the temples of Sri Mahaganapati, Sri Nilakanteshwara, Sri Rama, Sri Ranganatha Swamy, and Goddess Saraswati. The Jagadguru also gave Darshan to the devotees and blessed them.
In the afternoon, the Jagadguru visited the nearby Gundumala village, where MLC Thippeswamy received the Jagadguru with great devotion. The Jagadguru once again blessed the gathering for their devotion and said that He had prayed for the welfare of the land. Needless to say, the area was showered the copious rainfall the very next day. It was indeed a fitting end to the Jagadguru’s Vijaya Yatra in Andhra Pradesh, where rainfall had occurred at Tirupati the first place of the Yatra, and at Madakasira, the last place of the Jagadguru’s Andhra Pradesh Yatra.
