Jagadgurus Visit Sri Vadakkunnathan Temple

ARRIVAL

Sri Mahasannidhanam and Sri Sannidhanam arrived at Thrissur (known originally as Thirushivaperur) to a rousing and devotional reception by devotees. Dhuli Pada Puja was performed by Sri S V Krishnan, Vice President of the Kerala Brahmana Sabha. Speaking on the occasion, Sri Sivaramakrishnan, President of the Kerala Brahmana Sabha, expressed joy that the Jagadgurus who are the final authority in matters of Dharma and Vedanta had graced Thrissur. Professor Parashuraman spoke in Malayalam beautifully describing the early lives of Sri Mahasannidhanam and Sri Sannidhanam and how They had come to be drawn towards Their respective Gurus. A Swagata Patrika was then read out and submitted to the Jagadgurus.

Sri Mahasannidhanam in His Anugraha Bhashanam expressed great joy at having come to Thrissur, that is sanctified by the divine presence of Lord Vrishachaleshwara (Sri Vadukkunnathan) – the deity whom the parents of Bhagavatpada prayed to for progeny. Sri Mahasannidhanam then spoke extensively on the greatness of Dharma and the importance of adhering to it. Sri Mahasannidhanam also recalled the long association of the devotees at Thrissur with the Sringeri Jagadgurus and mentioned that Sri Vengu Iyer of Thrissur had attended the Prathishtha Kumbhabhisheka at Kalady in 1910.

Sri Sannidhanam in His Anugraha Bhashanam stated that the human birth is not to be used for mere living in comfort. Rather, the body must be exerted towards securing one’s Shreyas. Sri Sannidhanam gave the illustration of how Aryamba and Shivaguru had performed various austerities and offered prayers at Thrissur. Hence worship done with Shraddha and Bhakti brings about our Shreyas.

Later, Sri Sannidhanam performed the Sharada Chandramoulishwara Puja.

SRI VADAKKUNNATHAN TEMPLE & OTHER VISITS

On June 25, Sri Sannidhanam visited the famous temple of Sri Vadakkunnathan (Vrishachaleshwara) and had Darshan. Sri Sannidhanam then graced the Thekke Madhom premises. Sri Vasudevananda Brahmananda Bhooti Swamiji of Thekke Madom received Sri Sannidhanam with due honours. Sri Sannidhanam blessed the Swamiji. The Adhyapakas and Vidyarthis of the Vadakke Madhom (Brahmaswom Madhom) also paid their respectful obeisances, chanted Vedic hymns and received the blessings of Sri Sannidhanam. Sri Sannidhanam blessed the audience with an Anugraha Bhashanam on the occasion.

Thereafter, Sri Mahasannidhanam and Sri Sannidhanam visited the Sri Sitarama swamy temple and had Darshan.

After granting Darshan to devotees and blessing them with Mantrakshatas, the Jagadgurus started towards Kozhikode in the afternoon.
