At the Holy Town of Tiruttani

Arriving at the holy town of Tiruttani to a warm welcome on the evening of 2nd November 2012, Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji in His Anugraha Bhashanam mentioned that Tiruttani was the only one of the six famous temples of Lord Subrahmanya (Arupadai Veedu) where He had not come before. The Jagadguru recalled His visits to the other temples in the past, including the visits to and Pujas performed at the temples of Tiruchendur and Palani during the present Vijaya Yatra. The Jagadguru expressed joy that the Vijaya Yatra at Tamil Nadu would be completed after having Darshan of Sri Subrahmanya Swamy at Tiruttani the following day.

At about 9 AM on 3rd November, the Jagadguru ascended the hillock to towards the temple and was received with Poorna kumbha at the entrance of the temple by the Executive Officer of the temple and the temple Purohits. The Jagadguru first had Darshan of Sri Aapta Sahaaya Vinayakar and the Murti of Shanmukha. Thereafter the Jagadguru entered the main shrine and offered prayers while having Darshan of Sri Subrahmanya Swamy and His divine consorts Sri Devasena and Sri Valli. The Jagadguru then had Darshan of the Utsava Murti of the Lord following which the temple authorities received the Jagadguru’s blessings. The Jagadguru also went to the top of the temple for Vimana Darshanam and to look at the efforts being taken for the construction of the Raja Gopuram. The authorities received the Jagadguru’s blessings for the efforts being taken for erecting the Raja Gopuram. Alighting from the hillock, the Jagadguru gave Darshan to the devotees.

As the morning rolled into the afternoon, the Vijaya Yatra in Tamil Nadu that had begun on 6th March from Krishnagiri (with a 15-day tour of Kerala in-between in the month of April) came to an auspicious end at the holy town of Tiruttani.
